Pickup and Shipping When Someone Else Has Your Item

Someone you trust has the item. Can they hand it over to QPS?

A friend, relative or business may have an item you need picked up, packed and shipped. Quote Pack Ship can coordinate directly with that person when you cannot be there. Start by sending photos, the pickup location, the person’s contact information and your destination.

Arrange pickup from the person holding your item.

Use the estimator to identify the item, the authorized contact, the pickup address and the destination.

Photos sent by text are a separate contact channel and do not attach to the online estimator.

A simple handoff

The person holding the item needs to be ready for us.

This kind of pickup works well when everyone knows the plan. The person holding the item is expecting QPS, can be reached, has the correct item and is ready to hand over the item at the agreed pickup time.

Show us the item

Send current photos, approximate height, width, depth and weight if known. Mention glass, delicate finishes, loose parts or anything that comes apart.

Introduce the pickup contact

Share the person’s name and phone number after they agree to the pickup. They should know which item QPS is collecting and where we can park or load.

Choose a workable time

Ask when the item can be handed over and whether there are gate, elevator, stair or building-hour limits. A realistic window helps everyone avoid delays.

Packing after pickup

The handoff is only the first part of the job.

Once QPS receives the item, its size, shape and fragile areas guide the packing. Clear photos help us prepare, but seeing the item allows us to choose materials that fit the piece.

Depending on the item, the work may include wrapping, cushioning, a fitted carton, custom crating or pallet preparation. The packed size and destination help determine the next shipping step.

How it works

From your first message to a smooth pickup.

Pickup times may be available as late as 9 PM, depending on QPS availability, access and when the contact can hand over the item.

1

Send photos and details

Text the photos, approximate dimensions, pickup location, contact name and destination ZIP code to (954) 824-5481.

2

Confirm the contact

Make sure the person expects QPS, has the correct item and can answer the phone when we arrive.

3

Review the quote

We look at the item, access, packing needs, timing and destination. If something is missing, we will ask.

4

Pickup and pack

Once the job is approved and the item is ready, QPS completes the agreed pickup and packing work.

Before pickup day

Make the item and contact easy to identify.

Tell the pickup contact the name Quote Pack Ship and the expected arrival time. If several similar items are at the location, send a clear description or marked photo so the correct item is ready.

Settle any questions about ownership, payment or condition directly with the person holding the item before pickup. QPS does not pay that person, appraise the item or settle disagreements. We cannot collect an item when the person refuses to hand it over or cannot be reached.

Please noteSome restricted items cannot be accepted. Size, weight, access, timing, packing needs and destination can also affect whether QPS can take the job. Quote Pack Ship is a pickup, packing and shipping company—not a moving company.

Questions customers ask

Pickup from another person FAQ

These answers cover common questions when you will not be present for the handoff.

Who can hand the item over?

A friend, relative or business can be the pickup contact as long as that person is expecting QPS, can be reached and is ready with the correct item.

Do I need to be at the pickup?

No. You do not need to be there when the pickup contact can provide access and hand over the item at the agreed time.

What if the person changes their mind?

The pickup cannot continue if the person will not hand over the item. Resolve the situation directly and contact QPS again when everyone is ready.

Can I text photos of the item?

Yes. Text current photos and job details to (954) 824-5481. Include the pickup contact’s name, location and available time.

Can every item be collected and shipped?

No. Some restricted items cannot be accepted, and very large, heavy or difficult-to-access pieces may need additional planning or may not be a fit.
